Synopsis

Pre-Show

  • This is the first game of 5BBs new campaign of Dungeons & Dragons. This was also their first game in 9 months.

Previously on 5BB DND "The world remembers the day the Bloom Corruption began.

"Forty years have passed since that calamity first took root in the lands of Thalmeris, a spreading corruption that twisted life, tore open the boundary between realms, and allowed horrors from the depths of hell to crawl into the world. The surface… was lost. Kingdoms fell. Cities crumbled. Entire regions became places no living soul dared travel. But civilization did not vanish. Instead, it adapted.

"Now, in the year 40 A.B.C, After Bloom Corruption, the surviving peoples of Thalmeris and its neighboring lands live beneath the world they once walked. Deep below the ruined surface lies Marrowdeep, a vast underground civilization carved into stone and reinforced by desperate ingenuity. Cities stacked in cavernous chambers, lanterns and glowing crystals lighting markets, taverns, and winding streets where life continues in defiance of the darkness above. Yet even here, rumors travel quickly.

"Whispers shared between merchants, adventurers, and drunk patrons at the end of a long day. Stories… of a glowing fragment. A strange shard of unknown origin, said to emit a faint light unlike anything seen in Marrowdeep. And more curiously… stories say it is carried by a traveler.

"A man. And his rather unusual companion. A fish.

Part I Pasted image 20260313202936 Official 2026 portrait of Grimwald Von Tutu and Johnny The story opens with a man resting at a table inside the tavern The Gilded Griffin in Westopolis. The man is Grimwald Von Tutu, a Chromatic Dragonborn adventurer known for wearing a tutu. He has large red wings, and appears exhausted as he drinks after a long adventure. Beside him is his companion Johnny, a small red fish who is rarely seen without a toothbrush, which he carries at all times.

As they sit in the tavern drinking and recovering from their travels, a man enters The Gilded Griffin. He is dressed in a black Supreme shirt and jeans. His name is John Smith, a wealthy man who lives in the mountains outside of Westopolis. John has come to the tavern searching for Grimwald. Rumors of a glowing artifact carried by a man with a fish companion have been spreading across Westopolis, which has made him curious. He approaches Grimwald and asks about the glowing artifact. Grimwald, not knowing much about it, gives little information. Despite this, John still wants the artifact. Instead of taking it by force, he proposes a game of poker. The terms are simple: whoever wins the game gets the artifact. Grimwald agrees, and the game begins.offical john smith.png#rightstranger offical 1.png#left

As the poker game is about to begin, another man bursts into the inn, breaking the door open. He is lean and wears a brown coat, with a rapier and pistol on his waist. The patrons quickly move aside in fear as he enters. He shouts “Man in the tutu,” approaching Grimwald and noticing a shiny object among his belongings. Grimwald gives little information, and the man demands the artifact. Grimwald refuses. When John complains that the man interrupted his poker game, the stranger punches him in the face, knocking him to the floor.

Grimwald reacts by punching the man, leaving him dazed, before backflip kicking him into a nearby table. John Smith then jumps in with an elbow drop, breaking the table beneath the man. As John celebrates, the stranger catches him off guard and slices his jeans with a rapier, leaving John injured and on the floor. Grimwald responds by leaping over John and shoving his fingers up the man’s nose, causing him to sneeze. Grimwald then wipes the snot into the man’s eyes, temporarily blinding him. The man begins swinging his rapier wildly, but Grimwald dodges the attacks. John rolls between their legs and slaps the back of the man’s head, after which Grimwald strikes him again, forcing him to drop to his knees. Moments later, several men rush into the inn shouting “Sir! Sir! Are you okay?” and drag the injured man out.

matt portrait.png#rightAfter the fight, there was a lot of whispers and gossiping about the stranger being called "Angelo" and a mafia leader. The bartender, Jamie, comes out of the storage room and sees the damage to the tavern. Angered by the destruction, she yells at Grimwald and John and threatens to call the police and sue them. John Smith responds by calling his lawyer, Matt Murdock. About twenty minutes later, Murdock arrives and, after discussing the situation, admits that the two are likely to be sued. The police soon arrive and begin questioning witnesses while interrogating Grimwald and John. When the sergeant approaches them, they immediately blame Murdock for the incident. During the questioning, a man wearing a robber costume and carrying a sack enters the inn. He claims to be Durland and says he is a friend of Grimwald who was simply wearing a robber cosplay durland offi.png#left volsh offic.png#left . The sergeant becomes suspicious but allows him to stay. After further questioning, the police decide to release the group for the time being and continue their investigation elsewhere. As the officers leave, Jamie angrily shouts that they accomplished nothing.

After the interrogation, the group remains in the tavern, relieved by the police’s decision to let them go. Shortly after, a tortle named Draek Edoric edoric offic.png#right arrives and approaches Grimwald. Draek Edoric is the leader of the Tibetan monks and explains that he has been hearing rumors about the fragment he previously gave to Grimwald. Believing it may be safer in his possession, he asks about its return. They decide to discuss the matter further while traveling back to the monastery, inviting John Smith and Matt Murdock to come along. As they leave the inn, a man who had been sitting nearby overhears their conversation. The man, Volshit, a blind doctor who specializes in medicine, becomes curious about the fragment and secretly follows the group to learn more about its capabilities.

Part II As the group travels toward the monastery, they begin to grow closer. During their journey, Matt reveals how he lost his sight. As a child, he saved an elderly man from being run over by a truck carrying radioactive materials. In the process, a container fell and broke open, spilling its contents into his eyes and leaving him blind.

Upon entering, they find John happily chatting with a stranger, Hermes, a man oddly built like a shrimp. It is revealed that the two had met before. Hermes is a friend of John’s and, having heard about the artifact, decides to join the group. Johnny, searching the restaurant, is looking for a partner.

While the party orders food, Johnny goes around speaking to others. At the same time, Hermes attempts to steal the artifact from Grimwald, but Grimwald manages to avoid the attempt. As the two engage in a brief scuffle, Draek takes the opportunity to secure the artifact, believing it is not safe with Grimwald while so many are trying to take it. Although Grimwald asks for it back, Draek insists on holding onto it until they leave the restaurant. The group decides to take their food to go, wanting to reach the monastery as soon as possible. After leaving, Draek returns the artifact to Grimwald.

As they continue their journey, the same officer who had previously interrogated some of them approaches and questions them about the artifact. During the conversation, his behavior begins to seem unusual. It is then revealed that the officer is actually Drittle, a changeling performer from The Gilded Griffin. Since he appears harmless and is curious about the artifact, Draek allows him to join the group.

Shortly after, Matt mentions that he has been hearing footsteps behind them for some time. The group debates whether to investigate or continue, with Draek noting that the monastery is close. As they discuss, a real officer approaches and asks about their plans. Wanting to avoid suspicion, Drittle transforms into an old man and convinces the officer that they are simply out for a walk. The deception works, and the group continues on.

Matt continues to hear the footsteps, which unsettles him. As they are about to investigate, a man named Volshit reveals himself. He claims to be a doctor skilled in medicine and says he is interested in the artifact and its potential in alchemy. Draek cautiously evaluates him and eventually allows him to join the group.

yoo offic.png#left As they approach the monastery, Draek senses something ominous. Upon entering the room where the artifact is meant to be kept, they discover bodies scattered across the floor, appearing to be members of the Tibetan order. Blood covers the room, yet a man stands at the center, completely untouched. This man is Yoo "Lavinia" Jaehyuk.

He turns to the party and asks who they are, his voice calm and indifferent despite the scene. Draek, disturbed by what he sees, questions whether Yoo is responsible for the deaths. Yoo denies this, stating that the monks seemed strong and that such destruction would require someone far more powerful. Draek remains suspicious and studies him closely.

Sensing the tension, Drittle steps forward and explains the group’s purpose, asking Yoo why he is there. Yoo replies that he is also seeking the artifact and once again denies any involvement in the killings. He suggests that only someone far stronger than him could have caused such devastation. He then proposes fighting the group for the artifact so he can uncover its power. Draek refuses, stating that they will not engage in combat and that he does not trust Yoo. Yoo questions why they are suspicious of him, identifying himself as a paladin of holy light.

Before the situation can escalate further, loud footsteps echo through the room. A SWAT team bursts in, ordering everyone to drop their weapons. Drittle attempts to disguise himself as an old man again but is immediately subdued, with a gun pointed at him. Yoo, confused, questions what is happening. The team, led by the same officer from The Gilded Griffin, accuses the group of being a dangerous cult.

As officers move to detain them, Johnny calls out for Matt, but Matt is unable to act. Drittle, Draek, and Grimwald attempt to resist. Grimwald is the only one who succeeds in taking down an officer, while Drittle is quickly tased. Grimwald holds his shortsword to the officer, escalating the situation further.

As tensions rise, Johnny warns Grimwald of an approaching officer from behind. Before anything can happen, a bag is suddenly placed over Johnny’s head, taking him hostage.

With Drittle held at gunpoint, Grimwald threatening an officer, and Johnny captured, the situation reaches a standoff.
